Need someone to take care of your cat(s) while you?re on vacation? Live in Lake City, Wedgwood, Meadowbrook, Sandpoint, Mapleleaf, U-district, Northgate area? Other areas may be considered (I?m just trying to keep gasoline costs reasonable), price per visit negotiated.
I am mature and responsible ? I can also care for dogs, birds, small mammals, etc., but I specialize in caring for cats, as I?ve lived with cats my whole life, including the elderly and medically challenged. I believe it is less stressful on cats to let them stay in their own homes while you?re gone, and have me come in to feed, water, litter scoop, pet, brush, and play with, rather than putting them in kennels. I?ve volunteered as an assistant zookeeper at the Zoo and a rehab assistant at PAWS? Wildlife Rehab Center ? I love animals in general, but I?m super good with kitties. I am available for day visits. Perhaps after October, I could consider long-term house-sit/pet-sitting situations.
A typical visit involves Driving to your house (30 min), + 30 minutes minimum in your home to feed, change water, scoop the litter box, talk to, pet, and check the general health and condition of the animal. I will also take in the mail and newspaper if desired, turning on/off lights to make your home look inhabited, and lock up. Usually people like a visit in the morning and another in the evening. My evening visit is usually longer (up to 2 hours), and it is common that I will sit and perhaps watch TV while giving your cat more personal attention ? petting them, talking to them, playing with them, brushing them, and generally keeping them company while you?re gone, creating a bit more ?normal? evening experience. If the kitty is calm when I come in, they are ok?if they are very chatty, hiding, or needy, I stay until they calm down and are reassured.
Ballpark fees: $25/visit ? if further away from 98115 or there are more than one or two animals, or medication is involved, it will be more like $40/visit. Cash up front is best. You have my word that your pet will be well cared for. I am happy to come meet you and your pets, and you can see for yourself if we have a connection or not. Cats usually love me ? and I love them!
